We work for you.

When professional services are financed indirectly the full cost of these services is not likely to be transparent.  In fact, services may seem to be  “free”.   From what we have seen, the smaller the required payment the more expensive the cost of the given service.  When professional services are financed indirectly, that professional is is provided additional compensation if you purchase more products, or if you provide more of your savings to manage.  This can mean biases in what is recommended and biases in the type of assistance that is available.

We try to minimize the inherent conflicts associated with being your fiduciary and charging you for our services by not charging indirectly.  We do not accept referral fees and commissions and we do not require that we manage your savings.  This means the only way we get paid is by charging you directly.  This simplifies our objectives and minimizes the conflicting biases.

Pricing based on time gives us the flexibility to customize the project around your needs and preferences and it ensures that recommendations to purchase products are made because the products make sense for you.  Refusing to accept referral fees enables us to remain independent when comparing competing products,  features, and options.

We charge by the hour; but we prefer to minimize this bias by charging a fixed-price for a set of tasks.   As a fixed price project, tailored around your needs,  we work with you for as long as it takes to meet the tasks of the project.
