Robert B. Friedland, Ph.D., founded Friedland Financial Planning, Inc. to help people plan for life with more confidence in their financial plans. To ensure that our focus is entirely on you, we do not sell products or accept any form of commission. We only provide financial and investment advice and assistance in implementing that advice. Robert is a nationally recognized expert in Social Security, pensions, health care, and long-term care. He has devoted 30 years to policy research, teaching, and working with state and federal policy makers to help promote public policies that improve retirement and retirement income. Prior to opening Friedland Financial Planning, Inc, Robert earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the George Washington University, Washington DC. He has held key positions at the State of Maryland Medicaid program, the Employee Benefit Research Institute, AARP, and the National Academy of Social Insurance. In 1994, Robert founded the National Academy on an Aging Society, which became the Center on an Aging Society when it was moved into Georgetown University. Robert continues to conduct research and teach health economics, business statistics and research methods at Georgetown University. Robert is widely published, including an award winning book, Facing the Costs of Long-Term Care. He has been quoted in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger’s and Money, and has been a guest on numerous radio and television shows. He has testified before several committees of Congress and has had the privilege of speaking at conferences all over the country and, occasionally, in Europe.
