We view financial planning as a life-long process of self-discovery, realization, and activation. It is our responsibility to get to know you - to understand your values regarding money, work, and leisure - in order to better help you realize your financial goals. This means listening to you with an open mind.
We will spend time discussing goals, timing, and investment philosophies as well as use an independent third party to evaluate your risk tolerance. Getting to know you is the center point for all other financial-related decisions.
Thoughts on Investment Strategy
We are not wed to a particular structure or set of investment tools. We actively conduct and review research on mutual funds, bond funds, exchange traded funds, and equities.
We believe a well-diversified actively or passively managed portfolio can be achieved in a variety of different ways using most of these investments. Consequently we will try to use your existing portfolio as a base for the future assuming it is suited to your needs. We can adjust from there to strive for the highest expected returns, given your level of risk tolerance.
Thoughts on the Costs of Investing
As your fiduciary it is our duty to ensure that your savings are structured in such a way as to maximize the return and minimize the costs for a given level of risk.
What does minimizing the costs mean to you?
To minimize transaction costs, sales costs, as well as taxes, we will review current holdings to see how well they fit with your goals, time-frame and risk tolerance. If adjustments are needed our preference is to try and do so by how we suggest adding new savings rather than by selling existing holdings. Minimizing costs is a way to increase rates of return.
Thoughts on Implementation of Your Plan
Once you see the plan is where it needs to be, implementation can begin. We will work with you and specialists to assure your absolute comfort with your plan. Once implemented, we can keep tabs on your progress with annual or biannual reviews, or when family or financial circumstances change.
